We Get Around! is a division of the non-profit organization Advocates For Aging Cares with a vision to improve the quality of life for San Diego’s elders. The group travel training program combines learning to use the bus, trolley, and light rail system. Each week, preplanned and supervised lessons teach students, the practical skills and safety tips to confidently use public transit. San Diego landmarks such as Balboa Park, Coronado, Encinitas, Little Italy, and Pacific Beach, are the classroom as students practice navigating public transportation.
We Get Around! (WGA!) was founded in 2012 by an award-winning aging expert, author, and travel training instructor, Judi Bonilla. She brings her expertise and enthusiasm to a program educating participants to remain independent and active by using public transit. Lessons are based on the curriculum of the Association of Travel Instruction and Easter Seals Project Action professional training.
